Charles E. Iliff, Jr.
After serving in the United States Army from 1963-1966, Mr. Iliff attended the University of Virginia School of Law. Mr. Iliff graduated as a Member of the Order of the Coif, after serving on the Law Review, and began to practice law in 1969. Mr. Iliff began his practice of law at a large firm in Baltimore, where he remained until April, 1995. During his tenure at the large law firm, Mr. Iliff rose through the ranks from associate, to partner, and eventually to the upper levels of management and administration of the firm. While practicing in the large firm setting, Mr. Iliff’s practice was a civil trial practice, including personal injury, maritime, professional malpractice and products liability cases. A significant portion of Mr. Iliff’s civil litigation practice involved aviation cases, and aircraft products liability.
In April, 1995, Mr. Iliff co-founded with Kathleen Howard Meredith the small civil litigation firm which is now named Iliff, Meredith, Wildberger & Brennan, P.C. In the years since 1995, Mr. Iliff’s practice has remained concentrated on civil litigation. In particular, Mr. Iliff’s practice has emphasized representation of attorneys in defense of professional liability civil cases and attorney discipline cases, as well as alternative dispute resolution through mediation.
Mr. Iliff has been listed in Maryland Super Lawyers from 2007 through the present. Mr. Iliff has been a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers since 2005. Mr. Iliff is also a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation, a member of the Rule Day Club, and a Member Emeritus of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference.
Mr. Iliff has held many offices and board and committee positions with bar associations and other legal organizations, including ADR of Maryland, Inc. Mr. Iliff served as Chairman of the Trial Courts Judicial Nominating Commission for Anne Arundel County from 2003 to 2007.
Mr. Iliff has also been involved in many community activities.
